10 years old Mr. Dave in Sintra

“The trip was very cool... the trails very natural and made with love... I want to come back in 5 years and will show you how to ride the 11th level.... 🤪 Thanks João!”

RIDE with a PRO - Jan Sucher and Emanuel Pombo

Sintra is all about opportunities, you can explore that...
The guys from WERIDE helped me to seize those opportunities for two full days. On the first ride I was guided by the super fit guide, Duarte Medeiros. No surrender! Six hours of epic single-tracks with 1400 vertical meters pedalled for more than 50km. Almost no asphalt or gravel ridden. Authentic Portuguese lunch at a local restaurant. Next day WE went on a completely different PRO RIDING concept, the RIDE with a PRO, with Enduro World Series rider, downhill champion Emanuel Pombo, and support from another guide (David Gouveia) for the videos and pictures and uplifts. WE began with skills and technical lessons with high level of professionality including on-spot video analysis and an individual designed program. Next WE pushed my limits on fast and technical trails through the breathtaking mountain of Sintra. Then I witnessed Pombo style with it's very own airborne interpretation of biking. Nice features like shuttle uphills, photo-shooting and transfers to/from accommodation were included. The potent Enduro-rig left no  questions or doubts!! I must RIDE ON!!!!

BIKE SKILLS, tools and knowledge to improve it

"I had an amazing experience with WERIDE! They are very professional and the trails are super fun!
They have the right tools and knowledge to improve your skills. I did 3 days of bike skills and improved the basics (bike positioning, cornering...) and more advanced skills for enduro racing
They filmed it in slow motion and then compared lap after lap. With these videos I was able to understand my mistakes and develop new skills."

WECAMPS Algarve - Bike Skills with Anders Kielland

"Participated in a WECAMPS in Algarve over 7 days. This is most likely the smartest thing I have ever done in my biking carrier. I have trail biked every week for years, therefore I was surprised to see how much I still could learn. The course were well adapted to my needs and goals. The instructors was genuinely interested in teaching and had the necessary skill to do it. The course contained multiple aspect of biking as bike set-up, position on bike, trail to downhill tracks, pump tracks, bike specific warm-up and stretching routines and more. This company take their job very seriously. I can highly recommend them."

Markku Maki from Finland learning and improving BIKE SKILLS in Algarve

"I am really thankful about my trip there, I have got lot of riding skills and knowledge to start a new season. I feel it was really exactly what I needed. You were capable, supportive, comfortable and had good sense on how to teach. Moreover, it was nice to know and speak with you and hear how people in Portugal live and so on... It's always interesting to know how people across world live, what they eat etc...

After biking I had two days off and then went on with surfing school 1.5 days and rent a board other 1.5 days. So I had an extremely enjoyable vacation, biking and surfing."

Bike Skills with Lee from Singapore

"Best 2 half-days spent in Cascais for me. Thanks to Luis Pedro for patiently repeating the basic mtb skills and drills with me with Hugo shadowing. A good reminder exercise and assessment of rider's ability before hitting the trails. João and Duarte then showed me some of the most exciting trails in Sintra. The dancing and weaving around the tight flowy singletracks at the "bridges trail", drinking spring water at the fountain trail, going down some gnarly technical rocky and rooty steps and drops and jumping the double gaps at "17 sticks trail" was most exhilarating. They are careful to walk and explain the choices of line before committing the trickier sections. I have learnt a lot from just 2 short days of riding with them.

I had a small accident but Duarte was very kind and went out of his way to take care of me right up to my hotel. Kudos to your good team João!! Will ride with you soon in Singapore on your next visit."

Enduro beginner, mountain bike lover

"I started this year with “enduro” mountain biking at my local trails in south Germany.  Every year I visit my family in Lisbon and spend there some weeks. Unfortunately I did not bring my bike, so in my tediousness I started looking for trails that I could ride next year then. I spotted out Sintra, which according to most sites on the internet, it is the best place to ride MTB. The promise of breathtaking pictures about the mountains, the beaches, the sea and the great climate made me do some more research..."

"Luckily I checked a review (ENDURO MAG) from a German biker about some local guides called WERIDE. The next step was to get in contact with these guys, hehehe… :)
My Portuguese is quite good, so I could talk and write with them in Portuguese. They were very friendly and gave me all the information I needed."

"Since I left all my equipment in Germany, I kindly asked them to borrow me an helmet and maybe some kneepads. They even gave me FiveTen shoes and gloves, so I was really ready for some action! The only equipment I had to rent was the bike itself, a Transition Patrol fully equipped! So the WERIDE team gave me the contact of João, a very nice Portuguese guy with lots of experience and he arranged me a bike trip. Great! I just needed to choose the day WE were going to ride. João gave me the GPS coordinates and WE met at 10am in Sintra. Had a nice small talk about biking in Germany and the crazy people that use traps for bikers in south Germany. He gladly told me that the Portuguese people were very pacific and that such things would not happen there."

"After that WE rode on a normal street and stopped by a nice view over a beach called Guincho.
Rode a bit uphill and then stopped at a trail called “Viúva”, which means widow in Portuguese, a very flowy and easy trail to ride.
João rode in front of me and guided me throughout this trail. The next thing WE did was riding the trail again but now I was going first so that João could watch my skills and also tell me the good side of my riding and what I could improve.
After that WE got to a place called “Cume da Peninha” and also had some time to recover.
The next trail was on the other side of the mountain which meant no problem since the mountain of Sintra is about 500m high making it quite easy to access all the trails, even for riders who are not in perfect fitness conditions."

"Lunch time. At 1:30pm Duarte, a friend of João and also a very experienced WERIDE guide, joined us and it was time for learning some bike skills with both of them!
I was taught how to maintain the balance on the bike, hiting some sharper berms and later on how to make the famous bunny hop.
So WE rode some more difficult trails. Duarte went ahead and João rode behind me. Therefore I could see what was coming and João guided me on how to achieve more balance on the bike and that was quite effective and good. Sometimes WE got off the bike to discuss the lines WE could ride and how to excel on it. Here are some impressions of our track walks…"

"After the ride WE got to the parking station and I gave back all the borrowed stuff. All in all it was an amazing experience with very kind people and lots of fun. I can simply recommend to everyone to take a trip with WERIDE. In my case… I will definitely be back ;)

Ride on!!!"
